Beavers enjoyed their final meeting before the summer break at Oak Hill Park. We followed compass points, played games and played in the playground. Hope you all have a fantastic summer and see you in September.

The Beavers were lucky enough to visit the Southgate Fire Station as part of their Fire Safety badge.  Definitely best part was using the high pressure hoses!!  Thanks to Nic, Duncan’s dad, for organising this for us.

Our annual family camp was held at Gilwell on 23rd to 25th June. A great time was had by all with loads of activities laid on for all age groups.

‘Fozzy’ and some of his ‘Pantomimers’ came to Beavers to do a drama evening.  The Beavers were introduced to some hats and they created panto stories in groups which they acted out to the whole colony.  The Beavers then took part in a dance session.  A good time was had by all.

This week the Beavers completed their animal Friends badge. Lily brought in her dwarf hamster Sunflower and told us all about how she looks after her and then we did some RSPCA animal games.

The Southern 50 hiking competition is for Explorer Scouts and Adult Leaders. There are 3 distance events, 50 Mile, 50 Km and 30 Km

.Many congratulations to Laurence who was part of a team that won the 50 Mile event in a time of 14 hours 27 minutes

Also to Paul who was part of a team that won the 50 Km event in a time of 7 hours and 1 minute.
